By James Dempsey, Managing Director of Naturally Pure

My name is James Dempsey, Managing Director of the team behind the development of the “Naturally Pure” brand and range of CBD products, which not only work exceptionally well and specifically designed to enable people to take control and manage their conditions, but also with a considered additional focus ensuring they taste and smell nice too!

What is CBD Oil?

CBD Oil in general, is the resulting viscous oil extracted from “Industrial Hemp” (also known as Hemp, Cannabis or Sativa, with sub categories such as Marijuana) used by millions of people globally who feel a benefit from its use in managing their health conditions and well-being. CBD comes in many forms, strengths, tastes and sizes, some of which are taken via a “dropper” under the tongue, others sprayed into the mouth, topically rubbed onto the skin, or taken as a capsule, not to mention the edible range of Gummy Bears, Coffees and Granola!

Are there different types or standards?

Yes, like many things in life, CBD products can vary massively. Fortunately, a mix of personal preference, common sense and standard rules apply, some of which are:

  • Buying from a reputable reseller is the first important decision to make.
  • Some oils are organic.
  • Some oils are GM Free.
  • Some oils are “Full Spectrum” (this means all of the 113 elements of the plant are contained within the oil, reputed to give the most effective results).
  • Some oil connoisseurs insist on the” Extra Super Critical” CO2 extraction process, as it is gentle on the plant and results in a Full Spectrum product.
  • Some say Colorado Industrial Hemp is best.
  • Some insist on an oil obtained using an advanced filtration processes resulting in “Golden CBD”, again, sought after and reputed to be superior.

So, is it legal here in the UK?

The legality of CBD products hinges critically on the THC content (THC is the psychoactive element contained within the “Industrial Hemp” plant that is sought after and used recreationally by people seeking a “high”). CBD products must therefore comply with a global standard of less than 0.2% of THC content within the CBD Oil or suspension. If your CBD product contains less than 0.2% THC, then it is legal and compliant to purchase and use.

Are there any side effects?

If you have concerns over the effects of CBD oil, rest assured that according to a preliminary WHO (World Health Organisation) report published in 2017, naturally occurring CBD is safe and well tolerated in humans (and animals), and is not associated with any negative public health effects. There is also no risk of addiction or abuse potential making it safe to use.

Why do I sell CBD?

We started selling CBD products from our Café and Coffee bar, and were constantly surprised at the continued stream of positive feedback, with the words “thank you, you’ve changed my life” being almost read back to us script like, on so many occasions. It seemed we had found a product that really helped those who used it, and it felt really good! It was decided to create our own brand and range, taking the best products, methods and formats, across the established brands, merging them together and changing the potency, size and flavour profiles, offering something that although was different in look and taste, was the still familiar and the very best and most effective combination of all the variables deemed most important to us and our clients.

How has it helped our clients?

We have a vast range of clients, both men, women, boys and girls, of all ages and conditions; from teenagers coping with exam time anxiety, manual workers with back pain, to women dealing with joint pain, insomnia and low sense of wellbeing. When we initially engage with our clients, we must explain that we cannot advise or assure CBD’s success in managing their condition within their expectations, however, the familiar phrase, “you’ve changed my life” is never far behind when we next speak.

Benefits to menopausal women.

Some of our clients use our Oil, sprays and creams to manage symptoms of both Perimenopause and full onset Menopause. For example, our Muscle Spray is used to ensure a good night’s sleep, sprayed directly onto the legs before bed, helping to manage the burning hot feeling experienced by some. Other clients have had quality of life changing benefits when managing anxiety and insomnia. Below is a list of benefits directly reported back to us by women at various phases of Menopause.

  • Anxiety
  • Hot legs
  • Depression
  • Drive
  • Insomnia
  • Joint Pain
  • Sense of well being

CBD and Our Continued Story

Every day we receive multiple feedback telling us what a difference our products have made to the lives of our clients and their families, allowing Autistic children to communicate for the first time, incapacitated women to walk, and many others to not only cope, but feel an element of control back in their lives. We’re thrilled to be able to help so many, not only by making our brands available, but by also providing free trials and support packages for those who cannot readily afford CBD, with a view to brining this amazing product to all those who could potentially benefit.
