Self-esteem 👀�?� �?� In Western countries, statistics have shown that women have lower self-esteem than men, with 50% women saying that they’ve suffered with their self-esteem. Why is it that when a man has grey hair he’s a silver fox, but when a woman has grey hair she’s let herself go? 🤔�?� �?� Having been in the eye of the media in the 90s, my self-esteem took a dip when I used to see pictures of myself taken candidly, and those shots don’t always look good. I was so stressed thinking I always have to look good because you’ll never know when someone is out with a camera. �?� �?� 💪�?� Exercise changed my mental way of thinking. I started watching what I eat and exercising and I started feeling healthy rather than skinny, and it felt good. The older I get the more I realise that I need to exercise to keep my body going rather than to lose weight. I still get days where I look at the mirror and start pinching my bum and stomach and I have to voluntarily stop myself. It’s so engrained in our society that we can’t have any fat or sag, but this is the reality of life. And it’s not ugly! �?� �?� I look back at photos of myself and think wow, I looked really good… but I didn’t think so back then. What a shame that we live most of our lives this way, constantly looking back. Future you thinks that present you is absolutely gorgeous!
