Welcome back to the second instalment of my IGTV Series on Menopause Symptoms. Today I’ll be talking about one of the most common symptoms many women experience; Loss of Libido. As someone who used to have such a big sexual appetite, and where suddenly one day it just went away! Even little things like getting dressed up for a night out didn’t excite me anymore. It wasn’t even specifically the loss of libido, but it just felt like something was missing in my life. I wasn’t feeling sexy inside, so why did I want to put any effort into my hair and make-up? The loss of libido really affects every aspect of your life. However, this symptom cannot be treated just with medicine (although testosterone and HRT can help), YOU also have to do your part to bring it back. This means putting in the effort to look a little sexier, not for anyone else but yourself! Once you start finding your own sexiness within yourself, then the rest is going to follow along naturally. This can be really small things as well like wearing pretty & sexy lingerie under your clothes, or wearing that nice perfume on your dressing table, or wearing that gorgeous shade of red lipstick you’ve been too nervous to wear out. Finally, the biggest piece of advice I always give women who feel that their libido has gone is to……..Masturbate! Yes, you read that right, masturbation is a fantastic way to get yourself in the mood for climaxing again. Of course during the menopause, even climaxing can be more difficult and can take longer than usual. For this, I would recommend getting yourself a little bullet vibrator.
